On this day in 2003:

robotlinnell

this spectacular drawing was from last nights seminar. mr tisher so gracefully captured the true understated battle of me and the robot verson of mr. linnell. thank you mr. tisher.

in other news, i got an envlope full of postcards from a favorite design company, m/m paris. they are responsible for the recent bjork album covers and a bunch of other stuff. oh boy! it tickled me to get this stuff. you see, i wrote them some fan mail a while back and now i have been greatly rewarded.

Thanks Kevin, interesting pictures on that site. I think the drawring looks just like you!

Nice Ride Baby

IMG00015-20100410-1759

Bannack was riding with style this afternoon while Sara and Chris were working on the house. I think he likes the motorcycle mostly for the glossy paint, chrome, and mirrors. Either that or he liked having me make motorcycle noises beside him as he imagined blasting down the highway at 55 miles an hour with the wind rushing by. Brrrrr, errrrr, burmm, bum, bum!

Update: Future Bikers of America

This is great, who knew that there was a rich history of putting tiny children on motorcycles? I’ve tapped into a rich pocket of Americana. You’re welcome Bannack. Also, I’m getting an embroidered patch for your leathers.

A Spring Snow

IMG_8541-1

Helena was treated to a quick snowstorm this afternoon. After eating my lunch on the back porch steps in the sun I didn’t expect the weather to turn so soon. But McKenzie called it on the ride back to work saying that it has been threatening for days.

This site has been iPad silent until now, but Stephen Raslie was nice enough to send me a screenshot of this site on his brand new iPad. Thanks Stephen! I invite any other recent iPad owners (is there any kind?) to take a photo of their iPad displaying this post on their new machine.

Helena Bike Project

McK and I represented the Push Bike Safety League at the initial meeting of the as yet to be officially named Helena Bike Project. It’s the beginning of a collective tool share, community bike project to come here in Helena. There was lots if interest for a first meeting to be sure and I’m looking forward to what could turn out to be a way cool project. There’s scant information online now (I mean we just met tonight) but if you’re interested this space will be worth watching: Helena Bike Project.

McKenzie’s awesome name suggestions: The Spokes People, The Bent Spoke Collective, or One Helena Bike Co-op, or something else?
Ideas welcome.
