Lake Geneva: Arrived!

IMG_3743IMG_3737IMG_3753IMG_3756

This year we will mark my grandma Rose’s 90th birthday with all of the Chicago Caseys in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Sara, Bannack, my parents and I flew all day to be greeted poolside by a contingent of cousins, aunts and uncles. In the photos are Gram, my cousin Kevan, her daughter Claire and uncle Bill Gockman and of course my favorite aunt of all time: Colleen.

Bannack Meets Bannack

My famous nephew Bannack is named after Bannack a ghost town and the formal capital of [territorial] Montana. His close family (two great grandmas) and friends gathered in Bannack (the town) to welcome him into the world.
Thanks for taking such great photos Mom.

This Time Last Week

Kev and Bannack

I have taken a thousand photos of Bannack but don’t have many of him and I together. Jesse P. sent me some photos she took last weekend at Becca and Ben’s wedding and I liked this one in particular.

Nice Ride Baby

IMG00015-20100410-1759

Bannack was riding with style this afternoon while Sara and Chris were working on the house. I think he likes the motorcycle mostly for the glossy paint, chrome, and mirrors. Either that or he liked having me make motorcycle noises beside him as he imagined blasting down the highway at 55 miles an hour with the wind rushing by. Brrrrr, errrrr, burmm, bum, bum!

Update: Future Bikers of America

This is great, who knew that there was a rich history of putting tiny children on motorcycles? I’ve tapped into a rich pocket of Americana. You’re welcome Bannack. Also, I’m getting an embroidered patch for your leathers.
