Family Lunch

This week the whole family was able to get together and have lunch with Bannack. Sara made some incredible veggie chili and though no one was able to stay for long we all got to sit down and share lunch European-style.

Bannack was in a great mood, growling away, and even managed to take his first photographs. They’re pretty good, you know, for a baby. I set the shutter timer and gave Bannack the camera, he composed the shot (steadying the camera by putting a corner of it in his mouth) and voilà!

I hope we keep this tradition up, it improved my workweek tenfold.

Sunday Dinner

As many times as we can, we go to my parents house on Sunday for dinner. This week was a really special one.

Chris made a batch of home made beer with constant input from Jackson who stayed uncommonly calm.

Of course this Sunday dinner was another opportunity to see Bannack who is getting more charming every day.

Best of all though—topping even the green lazer—was the incredible Indian food my mother made. It was really really good. Lucky me, I got to take some left overs home.

No Sweat Brunch, MMX

IMG_6359IMG_6351

McKenzie suggested we cook No Sweat style breakfast for our shared meal. McK’s worked at the Sweat for a few years and can make anything on the menu. She bought ingredients for four different dishes—Stumbo, Toad, BLS, Counterpoint—and we offered or diners the choice.

I got to play waiter, serve coffee, make toast and bring orders back to Cookie. My other contribution was to lay out a quick menu before we left, but nothing compared to McKenzie’s skillet skill.

UPDATE: Allegra Shoots The Parrot

Parrot

Aha! After I made the Parrot post yesterday I went back to work and Marcy was working converting all the photos from RAW to usable CMYK tif files. While she was at it I snagged these shots taken by Archie.

The young lady in the picture is NOT McKenzie, but an imposer. Although McKenzie and I have been summer regulars at the Parrot (end of the bar, two black coffees and the ice cream of the day in a dish, two spoons) anyone with half a mind should be able to see right through the artifice of this photo. You see, there is a blaring misstep in the mise en scene: the Parrot serves beef chili and I am a vegetarian. No vegetarian would ever knowingly order BEEF chili.

See the new Parrot ads in the IR in coming weeks.

Parrot 2

Navana and I appear to be on a date, we are faking.
